About Coach

Growing up I was a competitive swimmer. During high school, I was very active, but once I got to college I was no longer swimming and needed to find an outlet to keep me fit. That’s where I found the gym. I was always the girl that just wanted to “be skinny” and “have abs.” Even as much as I was going to the gym, I still never found what I was long for. Once I found CrossFit I no longer cared about how skinny I was and found myself focusing less on obsessing over the food I was eating to the extreme. I started to realize that being strong, and pushing my body to what it’s capable of was so much more rewarding than what I looked like in the mirror. I wanted to see how fast I could go, how much I could lift, how much longer I could hang on. And the funny thing is when I started focusing on those things, the aesthetic I always wanted, came naturally without even making it a priority.

Turning Point

My big turning point was when I was 18 years old. I was working out on my own but more so just going through the motions. In 2013 my dad passed away from a heart attack, and that’s when I decided to really focus on my health knowing heart disease was very common in my family. I really started to focus on taking my workout seriously and making sure I was fueling my body with healthy and nutritious foods. Since then I’ve been able to create more balance in my life, I’m not as strict, but I make sure to fuel my body the right way while still being able to enjoy my life with family and friends. I make it a point to go to the gym 4-6 times a week and really listen to my body and focus on recovery. Everyone should be in this for the long term, so consistency is always key!

Motivation & Passion

I love helping people learn new skills, or watch them master something they never thought they’d be able to do. It’s empowering for people to learn a new skill or hit a new PR, and that’s what motivates me to coach! Also just being able to help people hit milestones in their life like being able to fit into clothes they’ve always wanted to wear, or having more energy to play with their kids, or helping them learn more balance with their nutrition is so rewarding!
